If you want an RV inspector who will go “above and beyond” to get you the information you need to make an informed purchase, then I believe David Russell should… read more be your first choice! This was my experience: I’d been talking with one of the largest RV retailers in the country to buy my first travel trailer. They don’t have the best reputation for quality or honest business practices, but they did have the last available unit in the same year, make and model I was looking for within my state. After I placed my deposit with the dealer and learned a little more about the walk-through inspection process, I was feeling overwhelmed and under-confident about going through with my sale, as it would soon become a large source of personal debt and my housing arrangement for the foreseeable future. I heard in an RV-life YouTube video about the NRVIA and NRVTA directories and was glad to find him among the few inspectors listed as available nearby. I gave him a call and explained my situation, I was immediately met with his warm personality and plenty of advice from his wealth of knowledge about RVs- bear in mind we had no contract yet. He really just wanted to help me, even though there was a chance I didn’t employ him. Once I confirmed my appointment and paid for his service, he got to work researching the trailer, did a VERY thorough all-day inspection, sent me an online report with lots of pictures, and even made himself available for any questions I had in the days after. The online portal he uses to send the report is very easy to use and even had a request list builder that I could then print or email to my sales rep.! I had more than a few questions that came up and he was very patient and quick to respond. One thing I asked the dealership to fix (as a result of his inspection) got some push back and conflicting information from the techs working on the unit. As a newbie, I didn’t know what was correct, but I did feel that I could trust the integrity of David’s inspection. I sent a text update to David about what was happening and he went so far as to do even more research, then record and send me a phone call he had with the manufacturer of the trailer proving that there was a (costly) issue to fix. My sale is now complete and I can say that if there ever comes a time I will need another travel trailer, David will be the person I go to for my inspection. I can also say that the professional service he provides will soothe the anxiety you may feel about making an RV purchase and is more than worth the cost of doing business with him.
